As we're getting ready to give our energy to other's this holiday: let's get perspective. If you're anything like me, you're feeling the crunch. The fact that we all try to complete the same amount of work despite the reality that we have days off. (Remind me why we do this again..the math doesn't add up) Juggling multiple engagements, visits, and trips. A larger pull on our energy reserves as we spend more time "out" in social gathers and conversations. This can all predictably pull us off center if we keep operating in the same way before the holidays show up.
Most of us believe there is one singular radio station running in our head and we label it truth.
We label it “me.” We label it “I.” But the truth is, we are tuned into a lot of radio stations. Radio stations imparted from your parents, friends, society, teachers, older versions of yourself, and your own fearful narrations.
Few people would put the words "give up" next to me. Probably because I'm not a quitter. But that doesn't mean that sometimes I don't have the urge to just give up.
Whether it's relationships, a project, a job, or a city where I lived, I've wanted to walk away and give up many times. To let go of dreams I had. To let go of principals I care about. And 2016 is no exception.
