Following our wisdom is not linear.

Following our wisdom is not linear.

Whether we’re seeking a stronger connection to our spirit guides, our intuition, or our heart’s wisdom.  Allowing something Greater in our life to guide us is never linear.

This is a reality I witness a lot of people struggle against.  Wanting a straightforward path to follow their hearts.  A clear step-by-step A to Z process.  They feel confused and disappointed in search of their hearts in this way.

In many ways, the self-help world has intentionally and unintentionally reinforced this.  Capitalism forces ideas into easy to sell commodities.  And short attention spans don’t help either.  These reinforce the idea that an intuitive-led life comes in a simple ten step process.  One that you start and complete.  And then tada find you have arrived.  I’ve found that the reality of honoring messages from our Wisdom in life is more complex than that.  And deeply personal beyond a simple ten step process.

Mystery exists in life to veil us from the whole picture at times…on purpose.

These purposes can include:

  • Taking us down tributaries we wouldn’t have otherwise taken.  For example, learning a new skill we might have missed.  Or cultivating a new relationship that deepens our self awareness.

  • Shaking our mind’s grip off the steering wheel of life along the way.  As something wiser takes our life through twists and turns urging us to let go already!

  • Veiling us for years from the wider picture.  Creating a cocoon for us to shed outgrown patterns of behavior and identity.  This allows a more mature and grounded version of ourselves to emerge.  A version more capable of holding the wider picture to live into.

It’s important to let go of the modern notion that our life can fit into a reductionist mold.  Led entirely by a step-by-step foolproof plan created in our heads.

Wisdom can come forward when we take two steps:  We let go and lean into the intelligence of life.  And we surrender to listen to something deeper than our minds.

This spaciousness allows our intuition to come online.  Our ability to notice the ways guiding powers in our life communicate to us.  It helps us tune into the subtle ways dots in our life connect.  And to catch the opportunities we might have missed in our narrow visioned search for an iron clad plan.

Don’t get me wrong.  Frameworks, steps, practices, and plans can be helpful.  After all, I’m a very practical person.  Hello Taurus sun.  But these tools are helpful more as a guide to get lift off than the strict navigation that helps us arrive.

This week on Tune In with Marci, I answered some important listener questions.

I explore the nonlinear nature of dreamwork, ancestor tending, plant spirits, and so much more.

Want some mentoring to connect the dots on your non linear path?  And to allow your heart’s wisdom to guide the way?  Schedule a 30-minute discovery chat with me to see if we agree we’re a great match for 1:1 work HERE.
